Podere La casa Rossa was established way back 1981 by Ezio and Alessandro Chiti. They had a clear purpos: to improve every aspect of production in a 'terroir' with a defined microclimate, ideal exposure and steep slopes, featuring tufaceous soils rich in skeletal components and few sands of ancients origins which favor the longevity of native grapes varietiessuch as Vernaccia, Malvasia Bianca, Trebbiano. Equal care was taken in selecting wineyards in the areas of Camporbiano and Pancole, whereclayey loam soils enriched with marine fossils deep down promote the production of red grapes, primarily a Sangiovese od rare elegancy.
